Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® is a movement-based approach that uses the capacity of the brain to improve physical, cognitive and emotional functioning. This method is a form of bodywork that uses subtle, varying movements with the intention of activating unused nerve pathways in the body and brain.
The method is a practical application of the principles of neuroplasticity, which relates to the capacity of the brain to change and to form new connections.
Baniel’s study and close professional collaboration with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais laid the foundation for her work. Baniel has developed this method of movement and focusing on the brain as a central source of change over a period of more than 35 years.
The brain is a highly adaptive organ that continuously responds and adapts to new information. Anat Baniel has developed a method to communicate in a direct and efficient manner with the brain, so that it can make these new connections and learn new functions.
She summarized her method in the ‘9 Essentials’, the 9 conditions to optimise brain function.
Anat Baniel has more than 35 years experience working with adults and children. Baniel believes that the brain can learn new patterns at any age. The Anat Baniel Method Neuromovement is successful in helping adults and children recover after trauma (loss of function), in improving athletic abilities as well as increasing physical and mental (learning) abilities.
Her method is supported by the latest brain research and leading
neuroscientists, including Dr. Michael Merzenich. Baniel is the author of the books ‘Move Into Life’ and ‘Kids Beyond Limits’.
